« L’auteur-compositeur-interprète Robert Robert poursuit son virage vers la chanson francophone avec le lancement mardi d’un nouvel extrait, La nuit se plaindre, produit en toute amitié avec Hubert Lenoir. »
After making people dance for 10 years, Robert Robert now has a lot of stories to tell. A diligent student of the ‘school of life’, he has never done anything but music: from Garageband to recording at friends’ home studios, and playing in abandoned warehouse raves to international festivals. These many encounters encouraged him to write in his mother tongue. It is at his home in the heart of the Villeray district in Montreal that he composes his new songs by himself and speaks out for the very first time.
“Silicone Villeray” was born. Composed of 11 songs, Robert Robert’s album finds itself halfway between confessions and fortune cookie sayings, with lyrics inspired by his life and those of his friends. Beginning in his bedroom, the album gradually took shape with the participation of a handful of exceptional people. “Silicone Villeray” was co-produced between Montreal and Quebec alongside Hubert Lenoir, with the unique touch of Benoît Parent, and the help of Félix Petit, CRi, Marius Larue on mixing, and Richard Addison on mastering. Robert Robert’s first French album will be released on May 28 on the Chivi Chivi label.
Digital, Robert Robert’s latest musical daydream, was “inspired by a blurry relationship with someone”. This new track shows the versatility of “Silicone Villeray”, an amalgamation of powerful beats and novel slow dance melodies.
